“I started my journey with Cisco as a high school student. At that time, I was very uninterested in school and the academy provided me an outlet to focus on practical skills that have truly defined my career and life. I’ve had the honor to act as a Dream team instructor at Cisco Live and hold three different roles within Cisco (Engineer, Sales, and Leadership) since graduating from the academy.”
Jacques
Jacques from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, now living in the U.S. thanks Cape Peninsula University of Technology/ICT Academy for help with CCNP R/S, CCNA Security, CCNA VoIP which led to a job as a Consulting Engineer | Data Center with an Internet Service Provider.
“Cisco Networking Academy is a way maker as it has transformed my life from asylum seeker in South Africa into a global citizen. The skills I acquired from Cisco NetAcad got me travel and work in three continents (Africa, Europe, and USA). It opened me to the world of opportunities without border as I can work from anywhere with my office being inside my home. Thanks to Cisco Networking Academy, today I have friends and colleagues all over the world, people who share my passion for connecting the unconnected and making this world a global village.”
Martin
Martin of Slovakia thanks Secondary Grammar School Kosice Trebisovska 12 and Technical University of Kosice for help with Networking [CCNA and CCNP and CCDA] which led to a job as a Technical Consulting Engineer in IT Technical Services.
“One could say that Cisco Networking Academy was a defining moment for me. I enrolled during my studies at Secondary Grammar School, and I enjoyed exploring the field of technology I was not exposed to before. I enjoyed it so much that it drove my choice of a degree program at the Technical University of Kosice. Being able to learn from the best instructors ever, I was able to meet a wider community of NetAcad students at various national and international competitions such as the Cisco Networking Academy Games or former Cisco NetRiders. At the end of my university studies, I knew this was the field where I would like to start my professional career, and this is where the Cisco Incubator program from Krakow Global Support Center came into the picture.
Going through this program, I further expanded my knowledge, and it was back in 2014 when I joined Cisco Support Services [TAC] organization. It was the Cisco Networking Academy program that pawed my way throughout the years and brought me where I currently am, and I am eternally grateful for that.
Thank you, Cisco Networking Academy!”
Rob
Rob of Australia thanks Goulburn Ovens Institute of TAFE (GOTAFE) for help with CCNA, which led to a job as Trainer & Assessor – Information Technology in the education sector.
“Since completing the Cisco Networking Academy CCNA program, initially as a student back in 2009, I have gone on to work in the private, public, and non-profit sectors. Fast forward a decade (2019) and I now find myself working for the very same institution I completed CCNA as a student (GOTAFE), however I am now an instructor and point of contact for the Cisco Networking Academy. In 2019-20 (pre-pandemic) I undertook the Cisco Networking Academy CCNA program again but this time as an instructor. Being in a regional area, Packet Tracer and NETLAB were the go-to for skills assessments. Appreciating the value of Cisco as a brand, I embedded the Networking Academy curriculum into our vocational education courses, as much as possible.
This ensures graduates are employable and well equipped for IT roles in both regional and metropolitan areas.” In 2021, The Cisco Networking Academy identified my efforts for supporting regional students in ICT pathways.”
Jonathan
Jonathan of United Kingdom thanks Leeds City College for help with CCNA which led to a job as Network Engineer in the Finance sector.
“The CCNA course at my local Networking Academy set me up with a solid foundation of networking technologies that has allowed me to pursue a successful career in telecoms networking and financial networks. Attending and passing my CCNA has been life-changing. It provided skills for real-world technologies and scenarios and allowed me to progress quickly in my career. I strongly recommend attending a Networking Academy because the training introduces the building blocks of physical networking and develops your skills to cover various real work technologies such as security, collaboration or automation.”
