Cisco Networking Academy is a Corporate Social Responsibility give back global program and partners with education offering curriculum to high schools, colleges, universities and community organizations. I went through the Cisco Networking Academy to know what students, instructors needed to know. I taught classes required to have the experience and was the first Cisco US Area Manager in 2005 to get their CCNA Cert. I am blessed with the mentors, co workers and from Cisco leadership this accomplishment that Cisco supported in the pilot program. I share my experience with students, educators and schools in the Midwest where my passion is education, economic development, and seeing training of future employees developed. Changing students’ and instructors’ lives throughout the Midwest and making a difference has been my focus. Over the years I have regularly taken classes and also some of the SFA course opportunities. I also may have some additional pictures in field but, I added the one on below for now. I always love learning and listening to the new champions students, educators.

“Cisco Networking Academy gave me a great foundation in networking and that allowed me to have the skills needed to land my first role in the tech industry. Without the knowledge and skills gained from Cisco Networking Academy courses, entering the tech industry would have been more challenging. I loved the courses so much that I went back for a refresher years later.“

Matilda of India thanks Amritha Vishwa Vidyapeeth, Coimbatore for help with Devnet, CCNA, Python, Networking Essentials, which led to a job as Professor of Computer Science and Engineering in the education sector.
“In 2004, networking courses were highly sought after. It was during this time that I graduated as instructor for a CCNA course and established a local Academy in IFET College of Engineering, Tamil Nadu. With the growth of the IT and ITES sectors in India, programming and software skills took precedence and our role was challenging. We did not lose hope but were constantly offering students the richness of Cisco Networking through our regular academic courses. Finally in 2017 we had a double breakthrough. With the announcement of Learnathon and Ideathon, we motivated the students and had 100% registration. We took advantage of the opportunity created during the pandemic to offer the courses online. Meanwhile Devnet was introduced and we were one of the first institutions in the country to offer the course. This resulted in job opportunities and internships for students, in addition to the valuable certification. The culmination of all of our efforts came as a memento and certificate of appreciation from Cisco, as we were recognized in 2021 as one of the top ten institutions! Our year was made! Thank you, Cisco. Now there is no stopping us!”
Danilo
Danilo of The Philippines thanks University of Santo Tomas and Mapua Institute of Technology for help with CCNA, which led to a job as Cisco Instructor in the Education sector.
“In 2005, I was practically a novice in the ICT field. I was a 41-year-old math teacher when my school’s administrator asked me to attend a Cisco Instructor Program at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. Hesitant at first, knowing that I did not have any background in IT, I told my administrator to just replace me with a co-teacher.
But he insisted that I should take the training. I accepted the challenge and with hard work, dedication, and the student-friendly Cisco Networking Academy, I became a Cisco Certified Academy Instructor in 2006. Cisco Networking Academy is one of the best things that ever happened to me, not only as a teacher but as a person, giving me self-worth in this day and age of IT. I received my certificate for ten years of service as a Cisco Instructor in 2016. Seventeen years since I started with Networking Academy, I still teach and continue to take programs like Python for self-improvement.
Thank you Cisco Networking Academy. With you, one is never ever too old to be in IT.”
