Marc of Lebanon thanks the American University of Technology for help with CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Security which led to a job as a Partner Success Specialist in the IT Industry.
“NetAcad is the foundation of my career! In 2001, I joined an academy while in my 1st year of Engineering school, completed CCNA and directly started a part-time job at an Internet Service Provider. From there on, I kept learning new technologies through CCNA Security and CCNP, then developed my presentation skills through being an instructor and instructor trainer, before joining Cisco in 2011 as a Technical Manager in NetAcad! My love and passion for NetAcad and Cisco technologies took on the driver seat and eventually I achieved the CCIE R&S in 2013. It was a true moment of pride and appreciation for what NetAcad has given me over the years. Here I am 21 years after embarking on my CCNA and 3 different job positions at Cisco, I still have NetAcad blood running through my veins. Happy 25th anniversary!”
Roxana Julia
Roxana Julia of Mexico city thanks ITESM CEM for help with CCNA and Advance Networking for CCNP which led to a job as a Technical Solutions Architect in the technology industry.
“When I was studying at the ITESM CEM Computer Science. Networking Academy was part of the curricula. For that, I learn about networking, and I fall in love with technology. Then I work with Luis Trejo the person that manages the Academy and I became an instructor and became a CCNA. Later I decided to become a CCIE. For the Academy, I learn about an internship program in cisco and join Cisco in 2004. The Academy show me all my network base, security and more. To be consistent and always I did CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, CCDA, and Security CCIE. I became the first woman to achieve the Security CCIE certification in Latam. I’m very proud to be an Academy participant. Later I work with the Academy (Rebeca de la Vega, Luly Ozuna) on the Hackathons initiative leading the chapter in Mexico and working with Universities, government and partners to innovate and try to grow the Networking Academy program. I’m very proud of what the academy taught me and gives to the world and happy to be part of this. The picture I have is with Rebeca de la Vega and others when we participated at the OECD Hackathon in Mexico.”
James
James of USA thanks Central Montco Technical High School for help with CCNA which led to a job as Technical Solutions Architect in the Cybersecurity sector.
“Without a doubt I would not be where I’m at today if it wasn’t for my time in the NetAcad. From the fundamentals of troubleshooting, to the real world hands on experience from Internships. In my junior year of high school a then Cisco SE came and talked to a class of mine, I was taken back by the talk and knew the NetAcad was for me. Over the years I have worked many roles from helpdesk to leading multiple teams of talented engineers, and now here at Cisco working with customers get the most of their investments. And in every step along the way one common theme came up, how did I get my start and how do I know this much, I can whole wholeheartedly say it was from my time in the NetAcad, learning from such great instructors and mentors. I’m overly proud to now work for the company that started my learning back in 2001. Congrats on the 25 years and here is to 25 more.”

“The CCNA curriculum and courses taught me practical skills in design thinking, problem solving, and collaboration which I have been able to apply to the field of work I am in today which spans cloud infrastructure, software security, CI/CD pipelines, and software development.”
Kevin
Kevin of USA thanks Central Texas College for help with CCNA which led to a job as Sr Network Engineer in the IT sector.
“When I started Cisco Networking Academy (NetAcad) in 2002, I was a Customer Service Representative for a defense contractor. I had no career and not much of a future. With the skills I learned from NetAcad and the confidence from the hands-on experiences, I was able to move up in the company, more than triple my income, and now have a career.”
Greg
Greg of Australia thanks University of Wollongong for help with CCNA which led to a job as Technical Solutions Architect in the IT sector.
“I highly enjoyed my experience in the Cisco Networking Academy. I discovered a strong passion and skill for networking, so much so that when the instructor told me that Cisco were hiring, and would I like to submit my resume – I jumped at the chance. Several interviews later, I joined Cisco as a TAC engineer. 18 years later, I’m still at Cisco. The experience at the Networking Academy not only prepared me for the interviews but set me up with the foundation of networking knowledge that has grown my career over the last 18 years. Almost everything new that I now work on, from ACI to Meraki, can be broken down back to the fundamentals of TCP/IP that I learnt in the Network Academy.”
